Tips:
It is advisable to travel with a guide. It is customary to leave a donation at a monastery and to circle shrines in clockwise direction.
Located approximately three hours distance from Gangtok, Tinkitam Rayong is a small village in Sikip Tehsil in South District of Sikkim State. Its natural habitat supports a rare species of orchid, Paphiopedilum Faireanum or ladys slipper. It is a lovely spot to get away from the world and just relax for a few days.
Perfect way to explore this quaint village is on foot. Take a walk arround the village, speak to locals and soak in the panaromic view of Mount Kanchenjunga this village has to offer.
You can find many trekking opportunities too in this town. About 45 minutes from Tinkitam, there are many tourist attractions in Namchi. There is a spectacular 45 m Padmasambhava statue coated in copper and bronze tones. Shiva statue is established on Solophok hilltop.
You can also enjoy local cuisines here such as Thukpam, Phagshapa, Momo, Ningro along with Churpi, Sael Roti and Gundruk.
