Castell de Bellver, popularly known as Bellver Castle is situated on a hill about 3 km to the west of the center of Palma on the Island of Majorca/Mallorca. It is a circular castle, served as a King's residence as well as military prison in the past. Currently it is used as a history museum. Surrounded by scented pine woods, this castle ofeers a stunning view as well as aroma. The name Bellver which means 'lovely view' in Catalan justifies the location of the castle.

This Gothic masterpiece offers all round view to Bay of Palma and mountains of the Tramuntana. It has three large towers surrounding a central courtyard connected by a small bridge to a free standing keep known as the Torre del Homenaje. Courtyard has two levels. Upper level has gothic arches used by royal families. The lower level made up of Catalan Romanesque arches was intended for the use of servants and soldiers

Bellver castle currently contains Palma's museum of municipal history, which traces the development of the city through its artefacts, with pottery from Talaiotic, Roman, Arab and Spanish periods.

During Summer frequent music concerts, protocollary and cultural acts are held in the courtyard of Bellver Castle.
