Amalfi's Arabo-Norman Cattedrale di Sant'Andrea stands atop a steep flight of steps and is protected by 9th century facade. Bronze doors built in constantinople in 1066 is worth admiring too. Originally it was built in 1266 as a burial ground for the local aristocrats.
Between 10am and 5pm, the cathedral is only accessible through the adjacent Chiostro del Paradiso, but you can see the Duomo for free, though not the adjacent cloisters and small museums.
