Located at a distance of 800 meters from Gokarna Bus Station and 300 meters from Sri Mahabaleshwar Temple, Gokarna beach is the the closest beach from Gokarna town. This beach is equally popular among pilgrims, indian groups and foreign travellers.
Gokarna beach is perfect for relaxation and spending some leisure carefree time with a book or even taking a carefree nap under shades. This beach has restaurants and shacks where tourists can get food and beverages. Tourists can also walk to the top of hill towards southern side of the beach that provides panoramic view of the beach and Gokarna Town.

- This beach is known for Surfing. The wave here is perfect for both beginners and advanced surfers. All surfing gears such as surfboards, wetsuits, flippers and even kayaks can be rented. Surfing schools offer good lessons that can last over a few hours to a few days according to your preference.
- Gokarna beach is also apt for banana boat rides, jet skiing, snorkeling and even yoga by the beach.
