Guia Hill features Guia Lighthouse, a cathedral and Guia Fortress. This hill is popular as an observation deck. It is also famous among hikers as it provides two popular hiking/walking trails with many fitness equipments on the way.
Guia Hill is UNESCO listed site featuring the historical Guia Lighthouse and Fortress also an old cathedral. The fort was built in 1865 and acted as an observation deck, designed to defend the city.
Look for barracks, a water cistern, an ammunition cache, a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Guia as well as the commander's house and storage area.
- 1700-meter circuit at Estrada do Engenheiro Trigo, also known as 33-Turns Circuit, is accessible by taking the slope in front of Cheoc Kungn Pavilion, next to Guia Hotel.
- Guia Hill Fitness Walk is 1100-meter circuit accessible via Rampa do Reservatório that lies next to the entrance of the 33-Turns Circuit. The Walk has 20 fitness training stations to train joggers in climbing, jumping and other work outs. In this trail you can also check out a network of anti-air raid shelters built in the 1930s.
