Jeronimos Monastery, also popular as Hieronymites Monastery, was declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. It was built uilt to commemorate Vasco Da Gama's voyage. Vasco da Gama's tomb was placed inside by the entrance.The building has Manueline style architecture characterized by elaborate sculptural details and maritime motifs.
