Red Rock Canyon offers a one-way 13-mile scenic drive, located just a few miles west of Las Vegas and covers 195,819 acres within the Mojave Desert. Highlight of Red Rock Canyon are its rock formations and their color variety. Apart from the natural beauty tourists come here for hiking, camping, exploring plants and wildlife. 

Unique geological features to see are Aztec Sandstone, red color, , Iron Concretions, Limestone, Dinosaurs' Footprints, Keystone Thrust Fault

Famous Hiking Trails

Moenkopi Loop
Average time: 1.5hrs, Difficulty: easy. Distance: 2 miles (3.2 km) (loop), Highlight: Triassic fossils and desert flora

Calico Hills
Average time: 1.5 – 3.5 hrs, Difficulty: easy to moderate. Distance: variable, Highlights: Red Rocks contrasting against surrounding desert and blue sky

Calico Tanks
Average time: 2hrs, Difficulty: moderately strenuous , Distance: 2.5 miles (4.0 km) round trip, Highlights: spectacular red and yellow rock scenery

Turtlehead Peak
Average time: 3.5-4.5hr, Difficulty: very strenuous. Distance: 5 miles (8.0 km) round trip.

Keystone Thrust
Average time: 1.5hrs, Difficulty: moderate. Distance: 2.2 miles (3.5 km) round trip, Highlights: the Keystone Thrust geological formation

White Rock to Willow Springs
Average time: 2.5hrs, Difficulty: easy to moderate. Distance: 4.4 miles (7.1 km) round trip, Highligts: pine trees, mountains, cactus, wildlife such as big horn sheep

Lost Creek Children's Discovery Trail
Average time: 1hr, Difficulty: easy. Distance: .7 miles (1.1 km) round trip, Highlights: tone stairs, rock-covered natural tunnels, petroglyphs, a boardwalk and Seasonal Waterfall

Ice Box Canyon
