Overcrowded during Chinese New Year
The Ruins of St. Paul's is adjacent to the Mount Fortress and Macau Museum. The remains of front façade and the grand stone stairs are the attractions of St. Paul church. Get a good view of the ruins and the surrounding city from Fortaleza do Monte or Mount Fortress which is at a short distance directly above.
Mount Fortress was built in the 16th century by Jesuits and later became the city’s principal military defense, equipped with cannons, military barracks, wells and a large arsenal of ammunitions and huge supplies.
How to Reach Ruins of St. Paul is 10 minutes walk from Senado Square. You just have to follow the signs. Senado Square can be reached -By bus No. 10,10A, 11, 21A, 2, 3, 3A, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8A ,26A, 33 and get off at Avenida de Almeida Riberio, then walk along the Senado Square; - By bus No. 17, 18, 8A, 26 and get off at Jardim Camoes/ Terminal, then walk along the Cobbled Street
