Sugarloaf Mountain is one of the several monolithic granite and quartz mountains that rise straight from the water's edge around Rio de Janeiro. It is worldwide famous for its cableway and panoramic views of the city. Sugarloaf Mountain is listed in World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO.
The Sugarloaf Mountain is located in Urca and is next to a smaller peak known as Morro da Urca. Morro da Urca is next to Praia Vermelha where you can spend some time hiring a canoe, stand-up surf paddling or relaxing under the umbrella.
The cable car goes from a ground station, at the base of Morro da Babilônia, to Morro da Urca and then to Sugarloaf Mountain Top.
How to get to Sugarloaf Mountain ?
Cable Car:
First it takes you to the top of Urca Mountain where a second car takes you to the top of Sugarloaf.
