Berlin Wall Memorial or Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer recalls the division of Berlin by the Berlin Wall and the deaths that occurred there. Located on Bernauer Strabe at the corner of Ackerstrabe, Berlin Wall Memorial extends till 1.4 kilometers and contains the last piece of Berlin Wall with the preserved grounds behind it. 

Look for

  1. There is a large open air exhibition which includes historical audios and pictures, a visitors’ centre and an observation tower
  2. Dcumentation centre exhibiting history of the construction of the wall in 1961
  3. Chapel of Reconciliation: built as a church, oval in shape with wooden facade
  4. The Window of Memorial: shows the 130 people who were shot or died on the Berlin Wall

Visitor Center | documentation center: Tuesday to Sunday - 10.00 to 18.00

Observation tower: Monday - 10am to 4pm , Tuesday to Sunday -10am to 6pm

Exhibition in the memorial area: Monday to Sunday - 08.00 to 22.00
