Checkpoint Charlie was a former crossing point between East and West Berlin created during cold war. After reunification of Germany, Checkpoint Charlie evolved into a tourist attraction, with two officials guarding the post. There is a nearby cafe where you can grab some food while enjoying the energy around Checkpoint Charlie.

Checkpoint Charlie was the name given to the crossing point between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War. The sign displaying – "YOU ARE LEAVING THE AMERICAN SECTOR" – in English, Russian, French and German, is the highlight of this attraction.
Checkpoint Charlie is located at the junction of Friedrichstraße with Zimmerstraße and Mauerstraße. An open air exhibition on the corner of Schützenstraße and Zimmerstraße tells the story of those that failed and those that succeeded in escaping East Berlin through this checkpoint.
