East Side Gallery is a section of the Berlin Wall converted into a biggest open-air art gallery painted by 118 artists from 21 countries. This is the longest continuous section of the Berlin Wall in existence located on the banks of the Spree in Friedrichshain. The famous works here include Dmitri Vrubel’s Fraternal Kiss and Birgit Kinders’s Trabant breaking through the wall.
The East Side Gallery stands as a memorial to the fall of the Berlin Wall and the peaceful overcoming of boundaries between societies and people.
Every saturday the Berlin Wall Foundation offers public guided tours which has to be registered by phone. Special guided toursof 60-90 mins are also there, sharing stories that make the East Side Gallery.
